GOOBJOOG NEWS/HARGEISA: The Somaliland Interior and Security Minister has released a statement on the missing cleric who, together with his family of 13 members, had disappeared a few days ago.

Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Security, Abdullahi Hussein Mohamed has said that Sheikh Adan Abdirahman Warsame (Sheikh Adan Sunne) has been located in Jilib, Middle Juba region where he is suspected to have joined Al-Shabaab.

Reports have it that Sheikh Adan, who was recently released on bail from police custody, has been on police radar for a period of time on suspicions of having links with A-Shabaab.

Following his disappearance a few days ago, efforts to trace his whereabouts proved futile, forcing Somaliland authorities to launch a manhunt which traced him to Jilib, an Al-Shabaab hotbed.

Sheikh Adan Sunne has been detained multiple times for ‘public incitement against the government and extremism,’ with several of his followers facing prison sentences for involvement in extremist activities.
