Mohamed Roble unanimously endorsed by MPs as new PM

The Lower House has unanimously endorsed Mohamed Hussein Roble as the next prime minister of Somalia.

All the 215 MPs present in today’s seating approved Roble in what now paves way for the appointment of a new cabinet.

President Mohamed Farmaajo pitched for Roble’s approval in a speech just concluded.

Roble now becomes the second prime minister in Farmaajo’s administration after his predecessor Hassan Khaire was kicked out in a no-confidence motion last month.

More to follow.
