More than 100 Al-Shabaab militants killed in Hiran region- Somali government

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A statement by the Somali government has said that more than 100 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in operations in the past 72 hours in the villages of Yasoman and Aborey in the Hiran region.

 The government said that the operation was carried out by the Somali National Army with support from locals and aerial strikes carried out by US forces. 

The recent operations against the Al-Qaeda affiliated group comes a few days after the Somali President announced that his government was launching an all-out offensive on the terrorists who have continued to cause havoc across the country.
