MP Abdi-aziz Yusuf: Galmudug is not ready to make peace with Ahlusunna

Somali Federal Parliament MP Abdiaziz Yusuf accused Somali federal government and Galmudug state of Somalia of dragging their feet to make lasting peace with Ahlusuna Waljama in the central regions of Somalia.

In an exclusive interview with Goobjoog news, the MP said Somali federal government did not initiate a peace deal between the two parties.

‘No peace initiative from the Federal government, no direct talks between Galmudug and Ahlusuana. We need sincere peace initiative from the government’ said the MP

Since the formation of Galmudug state, several agreements and reconciliation efforts did not lead to complete end of the standoff between Galmudug sate and  Ahlusnna paramilitary religious group in Dusamareb town.
