MPs reach Baledweyne to attend crowning of sultan

Parliamentary delegates led by the deputy speaker of Somali parliament, Mahad Abdalla Awad have reached Baladweyne town of Hiraan region to attend the inauguration ceremony of  new Sultan.

There is pomp and colour in the town as a new sultan is waiting to be crowned in a bid to forge harmony, peace and cultural progress.

The delegates will be staying in the town until the end of the ceremony, according to reliable sources.

Hundreds of the Hawadle sub-clan of the Somali community will see Ugas Hassan Ugas Khaliif Ugas Roble anointed as the Sultan (Somali traditional king) in the event will be held in one of the suburbs of the town.

The ceremony will be attended by religious and political leaders including minister for security Abdirisack Omar Mohamed.
