Naval Coalition Fighting To Increase Patrols in Bab Al Mandeb Strait and Somali Shores

Naval Coalition Forces fighting Somalia piracy said they will strengthen their presence in the area of Bab Al Mandeb strait that connects the Red sea and the Gulf of Aden.

News from the naval coalition says the recent pirate attacks around the area are proving enough the likelihood of new attacks if no action is taken in the strait. To counteract this move, the forces are planning to reinforce navy patrols on the western side of the Gulf of Aden.

The strait is home to the largest passage of ships going from Western countries to the Far East and vice versa. It is believed piracy attacks in the area will negatively impact hugely on trade across the sea.

The naval alliance watching over the seas is made up of 31 countries are based in Bahrain and led by the United States.
