The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has dissociated itself with its former Deputy Director Abdalla Abdalla following what it termed as ‘disclosure of intelligence material.

In a tweet Saturday, the agency said General Abdalla who was replaced by former Villa Somalia chief of staff Fahad Yassin in a reshuffle last month gave a media interview in which he disclosed classified information.

The agency did not however specify when the interview took place but said it reviewed it and established the intelligence official had made unwarranted disclosures.

“General Abdalla Abdalla has been released from the agency and does not speak on behalf of NISA,” the agency said.

General Abdalla was fired from the agency in July alongside  Colonel Abdulkadir Mohamed Nour who also served as deputy director.
