GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A scuffle broke out Thursday morning disrupting operations at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu following a forceful entry into the airport terminal by intelligence agents.

A source who declined to be named for security reasons told Goobjoog News agents from the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) forced their way into the arrivals  terminal despite instructions from airport officials barring them.
“The NISA agents were told not to come inside the terminal and instead stay outside just like the airport police do,” the source said.
“They however refused and forced their way in leading to confrontations with immigration officials.”
Seven immigration officials were injured among them two in critical condition according to immigration officials who spoke to Goobjoog News. One staffer  suffered broken teeth while another was severely hit on the chest, the officials said.
Computers and sections of the arrival were damaged, the source said. A video from the scene shows a confrontation between the two sides.
Operations within the airport were briefly disrupted before senior officials from the aviation authority intervened.
The airport has its own security detail under a customs and airport commandant tasked with providing security within the facility. The intentions of the intelligence agents was not clear.
The incident happened barely 12 hours after government officials at the airport cleared two foreigners who were accompanied by a popular Somali-American blogger. Immigration officials had first sought to establish who was responsible for the foreigners before senior officials instructed they be cleared.
