NISA arrests suspected Al-Shabaab arms smuggler

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali National Intelligence & Security Agency (NISA) has said it has arrested Sakariye Kamal Sufi Abba-Sheikh (Saki) a suspected arms dealer linked to the Al-Shabaab militant group.

In a statement, NISA said that Sakariye Kamal, 28, a Somali National had been on its radar for months before he was arrested while attempting to flee to a hideout at an Al-shabaab control territory.

The National Intelligence organization further revealed that Kamal was the mastermind behind a network that smuggled military equipment from abroad concealed as cargo that was seized in May by government forces at the port and airport in Mogadishu.
