One person injured in Al-Shabab-SNA fighting in  Burweyn locality

At least one person injured in Burweyn after Al-Shabab fighters staged attacked on Government soldiers barely three hours after SNA seized Burweyn locality 20 KM south of Buloburde.

The fighters attacked Burweyn town from different sides and fighting Somali government soldiers and Al-Shabab flared up.

Speaking to Goobjoog News, Abdullahi Bare Elmi, SNA commander leading the soldiers in Burweyn said that Al-Shabab attacked area from different sides.

Elmi said his soldiers warded off the fighters and the town is under the control of SNA.

“One of our soldiers sustained light injured and we have overpowered Al-Shabab fighters. They in the outskirt of the town right now” Ali said.

Burweyn locality was recaptured this morning by Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers

The soldiers took control of the area with resistance after Al-Shabab fighters withdrew the locality last night.

“The Somali forces and AMISOM peacekeepers secured control of Burweyn again and now the situation has returned to normal,” said resident who spoke to Goobjoog News.

The areas have several times fallen in the hands of the government soldiers then only withdrew days after the seizure.
