Parliament Speaker warns Police bosses against political involvement

Somalia Federal Parliament speaker Prof. Mohamed Osman Jawari has cautioned police officers against engaging in politics to avoid conflict of interest and compromise on their professional service to the public.

The speaker whom met with the country’s cop Brigadier General Mohamed Sheik Hassan Hamud for the first time was briefed on the security situation in the country and the police efforts and challenges in maintaining law and order in the country.

He commended the police for what he described as exemplary public service despite the myriad challenges on their part.

Prof. Jowari reminded the officers that there was need for a united and cohesive force capable of maintaining a neutral stand in light of political developments in the country.
