PARLIAMENT TODAY: Anti-Terrorism Bill enters 3rd reading in Senate

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Upper House is expected to commence the third reading of the Anti-Terrorism Bill today following its passage by the Lower House last week.

According to article 83 on the legislative procedure, the Upper House can either pass the bill as it received from the Lower House or pass it with amendments and then refer it to the Lowe House for approval.

Alternatively, it can reject it and send it back to the Lower House with reasons.

The upper House will also debate the Data Protection Bill (second reading) and Fisheries Development and Management Bill (First Reading).
