Bur-Hakaba Adminstration Has Made Arrangement for the Returning Refugees from Yemen

burhakabaAs many Somalis from Yemen are pouring into the country after that country has been mired in ferocious fighting between the internationally recognized government and Houthi rebels who have taken control of large swaths of Yemen.

After coming home, the returnee are dispersing to their respective hometowns as to rebuilding their life basis.

In the light of that the administration of Bur-Hakaba district is carrying out initiatives to welcome the Somali returnees from Yemen.

Deputy Bur-hakaba district commissioner, Hussein Mohamud, who gave exclusive interview to Goobjoog News said that they taken discussion on resettlement of the returnees.

“We have discussed on preparation and resettlement of these people hailing this district and we have plans to welcome them” he said.

Since 1 April, 6, 789 of Somali refugees returned home by themselves with small boats. They accused the government of “failing’’ to intervene in the situation of the trapped citizens.

Somali government promised to dispatch ships and planes for the evacuation of Somalis caught in Yemen’s conflict.

On 27 April the Director of the Parliament Mohamed Iyow told Goobjoog that the parliament had approved to send two ships to evacuate Somalis in Yemen. While other foreign nationals have been evacuated from the impoverished gulf nation, the federal government has not yet moved to evacuate its citizens despite announcing plans to bring back them home.
