GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Prime Minister-designate of the Federal Government of Somalia Hamze Abdi Barre has held meetings with several Somali leaders as he rallies support for his candidature as the next Somali Prime Minister.

On Wednesday evening, Hamza Barre, accompanied by members of Parliament and Senators, paid a courtesy visit to Somalia’s former President Mohamed Farmaajo. Farmaajo wished him well in his journey to becoming the 21st Somali Prime Minister and in the discharge of his duties.

Hamza later met with Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the former Somali President and former Prime Minister, Hassan Khaire. The two leaders wished the Prime Minister the very best as he awaits the Somali Parliament’s confidence vote and success in his national responsibilities.

A confidence vote for the Prime Minister-designate failed to materialize Wednesday, following the absence of both President Mohamud who is still in Abu Dhabi on an official visit, and the Somali Parliament Speaker Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur, who was still in Nairobi but later jetted into the country.
