PM Roble appreciates ATMIS for safeguarding the country during elections

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has today met with African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) Deputy Force Commander Fiona Lortan and  Commanders from the force.

The Prime Minister thanked the ATMIS leadership and administration for their role in ensuring the security of the country’s elections and urged them to intensify their peacekeeping mission in the country.

ATMIS, backed by the Somali National Army, played a critical role during the country’s election period as they were tasked with ensuring the security of the country amid threats from the Al-Qaeda affiliated group, Al-Shabaab.
