Police in Bosaso seize weapons in a truck carrying sand

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BOSASO: Security forces in Bosaso have seized weapons from a truck carrying sand amid ongoing tensions following recent fighting between government forces.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a garage in the city and discovered the weapons that were hidden in sand on the lorry.

Police told journalists that they had received information about the weapons and that they had already established the person who was responsible for the weapons.

The seizure of the weapons following recent fighting between Puntland Security Forces and forces allied to State President Abdullahi Deni which resulted in scores of deaths and displacements.

It was not immediately clear if the weapons were intended for any of the two sides.
