President Farmajo Vows Reprisal Against Alshabab After Deadly Attack in Puntland

President Farmajo said on last Thursday night his government will do everything possible to avenge the heinous act that Alshabab carried out in Af Urur military base in Galgala area of Puntland region.

The attack is believed to have left 38 people dead and scores injured including civilians who reside in the vicinity of the attack.
It was on yesterday early morning when Alshabab attacked the military camp from all fronts with overwhelming firepower and overran it.
Most of the dead were military soldiers as reported by Puntland security officials while others were captured alive and some are believed to be slaughtered.

According to the statement of President Farmajo, he pledged the Somali military will avenge Alshabab attack.
“We must show no mercy in dealing with Alshabab,” he said. “We promise that Alshabab won’t get away with this. As of now, our troops are in hot pursuit of the enemy, they will pay for today’s attack.”

Alshabab normally carry out deadly attacks against Somali military and Amisom forces stationed in the country in the hope to over throw the Federal government.
