President Farmaajo arrives in Kampala for continental conference

President Mohamed Farmaajo last night arrived Kampala of Uganda to attend the Africa Now Conference 2019 hosted by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda.

President Farmajo and his delegation are expected today to attend the Africa Now Conference 2019 meeting to discuss on how the continent can work towards an integrated, secure and Growing Africa.

President Farmajo will co-chair alongside other heads of states and key business leaders from the continent.

During his stay, President Farmajo is also expected to meet with President Museveni to discuss strengthening and developing relations between the two countries and enhancing security cooperation.

The Ugandan president, who has recently become critical of the UN, becomes the second leader of a troop-contributing country to threaten a full withdrawal of troops instead of a scale-down after Mr Nkurunziza of Burundi.

Uganda is the largest troop-contributing country to Amisom, with more than 6,400, of the total 21,626 soldiers.
