President Hassan Sheikh appoints new National Security Advisor

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has appointed Hussein Sheikh Moalim director of Hiraal Institute as National Security Advisor, replacing Farmaajo-appointed Fahad Yasin. 

Hussein held the same capacity for a period of  two months under President Farmaajo’s administration but was fired for unspecified reasons.

Hussein, who held the position of Senior Security Advisor and Principal Counterterrorism Advisor in Hassan Sheikh’s previous administration, was also a member of the National Security Council, the highest decision-making body for security issues in the Federal Government of Somalia.

President Mohamud has cited Hussein’s rich experience and expertise in National Security as an invaluable asset in his profound commitment to achieving a safer Somalia.
