GOOBJOOG NEWS | GALGUDUD: Federal Republic of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sent a message of condolence to the relatives of the victims of an attack by Al-shabaab militants in Masagawa, in Galgudud region.

President Mohamud noted that the continued attacks by the Al-Shabaab militants targeting civilians and peacekeepers reflects their hostility and cruelty towards the people of Somalia.

He added that the Somali people should stand strong against the terrorists and support the government’s war to liberate the country from Al-Shabaab.

“The attack carried out by the terrorists in Masagawa clearly shows the goal of the militants on the government of Somalia and its people,” president Mohamud said.

He however observed that much has been achieved by the government in its war against the militants and commended the national security agencies for their sacrifice in the fight to liberate country from Al-Shabaab.

“Victory is near. Already, the Al-Shabaab militants have been pushed out of most parts of the country and their ability to conduct attacks and harass the Somali people has greatly been reduced,” he added.

The president also wished the people who were injured in the attacks quick recovery and said the government will offer them medical assistance.
