President Mohamud welcomes Biden’s decision to redeploy troops

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somalia’s newly elected President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has welcomed the decision by the Biden Administration to redeploy troops to the troubled Horn of Africa nation.

Villa Somalia announced via a Twitter post, that President Mohamud thanked and appreciated his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden for authorizing the deployment of American troops to Somalia.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew around 700 American troops from Somalia during the final month of his presidency, but things are set to change after Biden reauthorized the deployment of U.S. forces, reversing Trump’s pullout  some few hours after Somalia gained a new president.
