Somali prime minister, Hassan Ali kheire has appealed to Somali traders to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by severe drought which is ravaging the Horn of Africa nation.

Kheire called on Somali business commuity to immediately come to the aid of their brothers and sisters in the affected areas before the situation gets worsened,

“If there was ever a day Somali people have needed you, today is that day. “, said Prime Minister Khaire “We are asking the traders to help their brothers and sisters in the drought area’s before it is too late.”

The United Nations estimates 5 million people in this Horn of Africa nation need aid, amid warnings of a full-blown famine.
