Puntland MPs rule out federal disconnection over Benadir Seats in the senate

Puntland regional parliament has strongly debated a resolution passed by the Somali federal parliament that assigns Benadir region 13 seats in the Upper house on Monday.

The MPs attributed the decision made by the federal parliament uncompromised decision that could further weaken the trust and cooperation between the Somali people.

Some of the federal member states including Puntland and Jubaland have strongly condemned Benadir region allocation of 13 seats at the Somali federal Upper House approved by the Lower House.

The central government has imposed federal member state leaders to a restriction on national issues mandates including foreign agreement and external cooperation for the last three years.
