Puntland parliament approves the newly appointed cabinets

Puntland state assembly has today anonymously approved the newly appointed cabinets by the state president Said Abdullahi Deni.

A majority of 63 members present in today’s seating approved the cabinet by a show of hands paving way for the first government for the newly created state.

Abdihakim Mohamed, the speaker of Puntland parliament, noted that the cabinet ministers have got the confidence vote and should be needed to perform their duties fairness.

President Said Abdulahi Deni has appointed 18 Ministers, 21 Deputy Ministers and 9 State Ministers which will form the largest cabinet formed by Puntland President during the 1st year of his tenure.

Among the 18 ministers, only one female was appointed to lead the ministry of Women.

The new cabinet becomes the first by President Deni who was elected on 8th January 2019 to the office.
