Qatar donates 68 armoured vehicles to Somalia

Somali government forces have today received 68 armoured vehicles from Qatar government.

Somalia Defense Minister Hassan Ali Mohamed (Amar-dambe) and Somali chief of defence Forces Dahir Adan Elmi (Indhaqarshe) has officially taken over 68 armoured vehicles from Qatar government in a brief ceremony in Mogadishu.

Qatari officials have said that this vehicle is intended to promote Somali forces in the fight against Al-Shabaab fighters in the country.

Minister of Defense Hassan Ali Mohammed (Amar-dambe) has praised Qatari government for its support and assistance to Somalia.

Somali chief of defence Forces Dahir Adan Elmi (Indhaqarshe) has recently met with Military officials from Qatar in Mogadishu and discussed of cooperation and to provide support to the Somali army.

Qatar is believed to be one of the main supporters of the federal government of Somalia.
