Reconciliation conference due to open in Baidoa

Reconciliation conference meant to solve the political tension between the parallel administration is due to kickoff in Baidoa, the headquarters of Bay region.

The prime minister of Somalia Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed is expected to open the conference. The delegations from Bay, Bakol and Lower Shabelle regions are to discuss deeply the formation of inclusive administration of South West Somalia and end the disagreements between the rival administrations of South West Somalia, three and six regions.

Government delegates led by the speaker of federal parliament Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari have been in Baidoa since last week. The speaker has taken meeting with the elders and intellectuals, he called the sides to end their differences through negotiations.

A statement from speaker’s office revels that the conference is scheduled to have three phases which will continue for 45 days.

Finally the participants are expected to reconcile and establish an interim administration of South West Somalia.
