Recurring killings in Mogadishu is on the rise

At least five people were killed and several others injured after security forces clashed late Monday at Siinaay checkpoint in Mogadishu.

The district commissioner of Yaqshid was among the victims, and he is currently in the hospital.

The Banadir governor, Yusuf Hussein, visited the scene and sent condolences to the victims.

“The criminals behind this action will face justice; all the security forces involved in the infighting is in custody,” said the governor.

The authorities will look into the case and bring the murderers to justice. He adds.

The Somali police have not issued any statements related to the incident.

In the last 24 hours, there have been a number of security incidents in the capital city.

One civilian was injured at the KM5 junction after a police officer fired on a rickshaw driver.

The shooter is in jail, as stated in a statement on Banadir police’s social media account.
