GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The newly elected Security Minister Abdullahi Mohamed Nur has been sworn in following his appointment Monday in a swift move by Prime Minister Mohamed Roble after his appointee to NISA was locked out Wednesday by Farmaajo’s men.

Nur was sworn in by Justice Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur before PM Roble amid a fast-changing political situation in Mogadishu. Outgoing president Mohamed Roble dismissed the appointment Wednesday night terming it as ‘illegal, unconstitutional and unprocedural’.

The two leaders have been exchanging tirades for over a week now following revelations by NISA that its female agent Ikran Farah had died. NISA accused Al-Shabaab but the group immediately denied responsibility.

Farmaajo’s appointee as NISA Director-General Colonel Yasin Abdullahi Mohamud headed to the agency headquarters Wednesday morning where he ‘took charge’ according to a statement by the agency.

PM Roble had instructed his General Bashir Gobe whom he appointed in the same position to report to NISA but was time-barred.

Immediate former Minister Hassan Hundubey who has been lamenting in a series of tweets termed the swearing-in of Nur as a ‘hijack’.
