Security forces close roads leading to the parliament ahead of the opening of 1st session

Some parts of Maka Al-Mukarama road in the heart of the of Somali capital, Mogadishu remain closed this morning ahead of the opening the 1st session of Somalia’s 11th parliament.

Somali parliament is expected to open its session on 1st March (today), according the speaker of the parliament.

Security forces patrol most of the junctions of the busy road, the closure of the road has affected the area between the junctions of national theatre and Dabka where the public and private vehicles were forced small roads in the villages.

The overall security of the area around the parliament building was tightened by government forces, most of the roads leading to the parliament have been blocked.
