Security Operation in Barawe Nabs 1o Suspects

Somali government forces have launched security operations in number of suburbs in Baraawe town.
The soldiers have nabbed at least 10 suspected people of being members of Al-Shabab organization which has recently made a number of assassinations against government officials.
Barawe district commissioner, Hussien Mohamed Barre has confirmed the operations was conducted by the soldiers saying that the forces arrested ten suspected people as investigations are underway.

“The government forces have carried out operations after Suspected members of Al-Shabab fighters hurled hand grenade bomb at a police post last night” he said.

The security of town has been deteriorated recently after several government soldiers were gunned down in hands suspected of Al-Shabab members.

Barawe a town situated about 150km from the country’s capital, Mogadishu used to be the largest stronghold for Al-Shabab’s top officials and its foreign jihadist fighters before fled

from the town after heavy military assault by the Somali government forces and the African Union mission in Somalia [AMISOM].
