Security forces launch operations in Afgooye following security threats in the town

Somali government forces last night launched operations to hunt down suspects reported to be behind the escalating security situation Afgooye town, residents have said.

The soldiers were making direct door-to-door operations intended flush out the suspects after tip off from members of the public.

A local resident who spoke to Goobjoog News stated the manhunt had been underway till at dawn.

“Soldiers searched almost every house in this are though I don’t how people they arrested but they seemed to have been looking for individuals who had been identified by members of the the public,” he said.

Goobjoog News has not been able to reach Afgooye administration for comment.
