Senate candidates for Jubbaland now addressing parliament ahead of vote

GOOBJOOG NEWS|KISMAYO: Senate candidates from Jubbaland state are currently addressing the state parliament in a quest for their elections to represent the state at the Federal parliament.

Nine candidates who are vying for the first four seats will present their arguments before the house ahead of a vote later in the day. Jubbaland state will become the first state to elect senators as most of the states are even yet to form their electoral committees.

The candidates set for election today are:

Seat 1: Abdullahi Islaahil Fartaag (current senator) and Ahmed Mohamed

Seat 2: Halimo Jamah Mohamed and Abdirizaq Mohamed Osman

Seat 3: Ilyas Badal Gaboose, Mohamed Ahmed Sayiid and Sharmake Mohamed Abdi

Seat 4: Iftin Hassan Iiman  (current senator) and Ibrahim Yaquub Ismail
