Senior police officer survives roadside bombing in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A roadside bomb targeting a vehicle carrying a senior police officer named exploded in the vicinity of the former milk factory and the Gordon military training school in Mogadishu’s Hodan district Tuesday night.

According to security officers, the blast said to be a roadside bomb, targeted Mohamed Dahir who is the current commander of the VIP Police Guard.

Witnesses at the scene said Dahir escaped unhurt while three of the commander’s bodyguards were injured, as well as civilians on a motorbike.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
