At least 18 Al-shabaab militants killed in an operations in Galgadud region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU:  The Somali National Army’s Danab Commandos have killed at least 18 militants and injured several others in an operation at Budbud, Ceeldheer district in Galgadud region.

According to Lieutenant General Ahmed Abdullahi Nur Beeryare, the commandos destroyed a weapons depot and an area believed to have been used by the militants to manufacture explosive devices.

Deputy Minister of Information of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdirahman Yusuf Adala while confirming the incident said the targeted senior Al-Shabaab commanders who were among those killed during the offensive.

The latest operation is one in many such assaults by the Somali National Army against the Al-shabaab militants which has seen several top militants killed as the army gears up to the second phase of liberating the country.
