SNA seize Al-Shabab base in Bay region, release prisoners

Reports from the Bay region indicate that the Somali national army and Southwest state forces have taken the control of Al-Shabaab base in the region on earlier Sunday.

According to the military officials who were leading the operations, the troops launched the offensive approximately 12km to Dinsor district in Bay region.

Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Aden Yarow, commander of the 54th Infantry Brigade, said “Our aim was to open up all roads closed by al-Shabaab.”

The commander also said that a number of Al-Shabaab’s prisoners had been released most of them pastoralists and  children.

Al-Shabaab has not yet released any information on the areas that have seized by the national forces and the southwest state forces.
