SNA chief of Staff General Odowaa Rage Wednesday visited the U.S run Bale Dogle military base where he held talks with U.S military officials.
According to the state news agency SONNA, the SNA boss commended the Somali troops for their sustained efforts in the war against Al-Shabaab in recent weeks which has yielded rseveral areas previously under the militants’ control.
General Rage and his U.S counterparts also discussed the need for acceleration of offensives against Al-Shabaab.
The visit by Rage to the US-run base which hosts the 16th battalion of the SNA comes few months after Al-Shabaab attacked the base but was repulsed the soldiers. The US embassy confirmed two American soldiers were injured during the attack.
