GOOBJOOG NEWS|THE HAGUE:  Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble yesterday held a virtual  meeting with the Federal government state delegation which left the country two days ago to witness the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the maritime case between Somalia and Kenya.

Roble told the team to count on the support of nation and also wished the Somali people success in the much-anticipated ruling on the maritime case pitting Somalia against Kenya that has taken a 7-year course to be decided on.

The Somali Government delegation led by Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Khadar Guleid, arrived in The Hague on Saturday where the ICJ will announce its verdict on the maritime dispute between Somalia and Kenya, on Tuesday 12 Oct.

Among some of the delegates include the Attorney General of Somalia, the Speaker of the South West Parliament Ali Said Fiqi, the former Attorney General Ahmed Ali Dahir, Ambassador Yusuf Garaad Omar, the Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Kenya has stood its ground that it will not accept any outcome of the decision the ICJ will put foward and reiterated that it will not abide by its ruling arguing that the court did not have any jurisdiction over the border dispute but rather the two countries be left to settle the dispute via dialogue.
