NISA Displays Passports Of Two Iranians Who Were Allegedly Spreading Shia

Somalia Intelligence and Security Agency displayed publicly two passports of Iranian citizens were allegedly spreading Shia teachings in the country.

On Wednesday Somali security forces raided prophet Mohmmad birthday commemoration ceremony organized by Imamu-khumani relief organization detaining several attendees among them was one Iranian embassy staff of Somali nationality.

Today NISA released two pages statement saying it has thwarted nation wide shia spreading network headed by two Iranian nationals under diplomatic cover. Iranian embassy in Somalia dismissed NISA accusations and said, both indicated Iranians are genuine diplomats at the Iranian embassy in Somalia and have nothing to do with religious affairs.

Imamu-khumani relief organization

Some religious scholars in the country warned Imamu-Khumanyni Relief Organization to be working under the disguise of relief to spread the Shia teachings in the country but Iranian Embassy dismissed the claim.

“ Imamu khumayni is not allowed to talk on religious affairs or political affairs. it is just here for humanitarian assistance” “ the workers of this organizations rarely speak English or Arabic and when they come here they stay indoors and hotels and they can’t spread Shia” said charge d’affair of Iranian embassy in Somalia.

Iran is one of the view countries that maintains physical embassy in the country but faces challenges from local religious groups who suspect spreading shia teachings in the country and the Arab gulf countries headed by Saudi-Arabia which do not want to  see Iranian influence come to the Horn of Africa.
