Somali president arrives in Djibouti for climate change talks

GOOBJOOG NEWS|DJIBOUTI: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud last night landed at Djibouti Airport, where he received a cordial welcome from his Djiboutian counterpart, Ismail Omar Guelleh.

The President is in the country to attend a high-level meeting on climate change scheduled for October 23–25, 2022, where several other Heads of State from the region will also attend.

Hassan Sheikh will also hold bilateral talks with Guelleh on bilateral issues and the fight against Al-Shabaab, among other issues.

This is the Somali president’s second trip in three months to the Horn of Africa nation, where he was awarded with a medal that corresponds with the highest levels of honor in the Djibouti nation on his first trip in July.
