Somali president receives credentials from Indian Ambassador

Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has today received the credentials of a newly appointed India ambassador to Somalia.

In a welcoming ceremony held in Villa Somalia, in Mogadishu, Somali President has approved the credentials of the ambassador Ms Suchitra Durai.

 President Mohamoud wished the envoy success in her new position and stressed that Somalia and India had a warm diplomatic relations and will keep enhancing their political and economic relations.

President Hassan and the ambassador discussed wide range issues including the bilateral ties between the two nations.

The new ambassador said that Somalia and India had enjoyed historically very warm friendly, civilization and cultural affinity in the past.

She pointed out that India will back the enhancement of the level of trade, development and investment between Somalia and India.

Somali and India had also good relations in the past including trade relations and free movement of business people of the two nations.
