#SomaliaElections2021: Ayan Abdullahi elected second senator in South-West state

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BAIDOA: Ayan Adam Abdullahi has been elected the second senator from the South-West state after she beat her only opponent Farhiyo Nuur Adan.

Senator elect-Abdullahi got 79 votes while Adan got 8 votes. Five votes were spoiled.

The new senator-elect was born in Luuq Ganaane district, Gedo region in 1991 and schooled in Baidoa before proceeding to Bangladesh where she got a degree in computer engineering.

Both candidates for the fifth seat are from Hariin sub-clan of the Mirifle clan. The seat was previously occupied by Senator Ilyaas Hassan from Eelay sub-clan of the Mirifle clan.
