Somalia’s foreign Minister meets his Germany counterpart in Rome

Somalia’s minister for foreign affairs and international co-operation Abdirahman Duale Belah met with his counterpart German foreign minister Steinmeier in Rome on the occasion of Migration conference.

The two officials discussed the co-operations, the diplomatic ties between Somalia and Germany and the ongoing achievements of the federal government including the fight against al-shabab.

Germany foreign minister recommended the government’s effort to stabilize and reconstruct the country from more than two decades of civil strife. He underlined the importance of unity and co-operation.

Germany provides humanitarian assistance to Somalia and keenly supports the EU mission training Somali security forces.

Last week the minister has taken important meetings with Yemen top leaders including the president Abdu Rabbuh Mansur Hadi,the newly appointed Prime minister Khaled Bahbah and ministers in Sana’a.

Mr. Beilah also visited the chamber of commerce in Sana’a and delivered a keynote speech while meeting Yemeni business leaders.
