Somaliland caucus to elect new senators next week-schedule
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somaliland’s State Election Implementation Team (SIET), has released the timetable for the senate elections following the unveiling of the candidates Tuesday.
This comes hours after the Deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Guled and Speaker Abdi Hashi submitted a list of candidates for the Upper House to the Prime Minister.
According to the schedule, voting will start on September 28 and will end on September 30, 2021.
Registration and verification of candidates for the Upper House will begin on Thursday 23rd and is expected to end on Saturday 25th of this month.
The training of delegates who will elect the senators of the Upper House will take place on September 26 the candidates will give speeches before the delegates the following day.
