Somaliland SIET to register four more Lower House candidates today

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somaliland State Indirect Elections Team is set to commence registration of candidates for four seats in the Somaliland Lower House on Monday, today.

The commission announced yesterday that four out of  a total of 16 seats would be up for grabs and that the registration of candidates will begin from Monday to Thursday, December 16.

Among the contestants for the race is Fowsiyo Yusuf Haji, who is one of the candidates aspiring for presidency.  Somaliland delegates have already elected eight MPs.

Outgoing Senate Speaker Abdi Hashi had earlier called for the suspension of the 16 seats announced by SIET noting the process was irregular.

The following are the candidates who will run for the four seats in the coming days;
