South west State to hold talks with oppositions

Storyline:National News

South West state president Shariif Adan said his administration is ready to hold talks with oppositions following his visit to some parts of Bakool region, officials said.

While in Bakool Shariif held talks with traditional elders and politicians in the region on wide range issues including newly declared regional state named as Upper Bakool state.

Rehabilitation minister, Hassan Hussein said the president Shariif is ready to talk with anybody who is dissatisfied with the administration as to iron out the differences.

“The president went Bakool region to hold talks with all those who are unhappy with how the administration was formed” said Hassan.

The move comes after reports saying several regional MPs are carrying out attempts to table impeachment motion against the president of Southwest state.

Last year, some federal MPs and traditional elders declared new regional state named Upper Bakool state with president and his deputy.

Ahmed Sheikh Mohamed was announced to be the first president of state as his deputy president will be Abdullahi Sahal Hussein.

Ahmed ruled out possibility of negotiating with Southwest State President Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan on the motives behind the fresh split.

He accused Baidoa-based interim administration of political negligence and lack of attention to the mounting grievances among inhabitants of three districts in ‘Upper Bakool region’.
