South West unveils first 11 seats, Somaliland to register first nine candidates tomorrow

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BAIDOA: The South West elections team has announced the election of the first 11 seats in the upcoming Lower House elections set to be held next week.

The South West State Indirect Elections Team (SIET) said in a statement that elections will be held for the first 11 seats in the by-elections as follows:

1 – Hop  182

2 – Hop  042

3 – Hop  041

4 – Hop  103

5 – Hop  170

6 – Hop  171

7 – Hop  213

8 – Hop  180

9 – Hop  154

10 – Hop 189

11 – Hop  193

South West becomes the second administration to announce the election of seats in the Lower House of parliament after Galmudug announced the election of five seats on Wednesday.

South West has 69 seats in the Lower House making it the most powerful constituency in terms of number of MPs.

So far, Somaliland has elected two MPs among them Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Guled.

Meanwhile registration for the first nine candidates for Somaliland will kick off from tomorrow to pave way for elections in the coming days.
