Southwest religious affairs minister says he cannot be sacked by president Adan

 Southwest minister for religious affairs, Ahmed Mohamed rejected the decision by the President of Southwest Shariif  Hassan Adan to sack him, heightening a growing political crisis in Southwest.

Speaking in the southern town of Baidoa, Hussien said that the president has no “legal authority” to sack him and that he would continue to serve in his capacity as minister.

“I do not accept the president’s announcement today that he sacked me as Southwest minister for religious affairs, he does not have that legal authority,” Mohamed said at a press conference in the southern Somali town of Baidoa.

Hussein said that it was for the president to be constitutionally breached by the regional assembly after the president is accused of mismanagement and incompetence.

Sources claimed that Mohamed was among regional MP allegedly prepared a motion against the regional leader Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden which failed to meet the quorum.
