Speaker Madobe appoints team to investigate the August 7 chaos during approval of new cabinet

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: House of the People speaker Aden Madobe has today appointed a five-member parliamentary team to investigate the chaos that took place in the House of the People during the confidence vote for the new cabinet.

During the proceedings, a few members who were disatisfied with how the approval process was being carried out resorted to chaos, with one member going to an extend of throwing a water bottle at the Speaker of the house.

Despite the brawl, the overwhelming majority of parliamentarians, 229 of them, voted in favor of the new Cabinet, seven against and one abstained.
