Ten killed in PSV landmine blast near Afgooye

Ten people were killed this morning after a vehicle they were traveling in hit a landmine in Afgooye, sources said.

Sources at the scene told Goobjoog News the 14-seater vehicle traveling between Hawa-Abdi and Lafoole road near Afgooye town hit a landmine killing ten people.

Only three people survived the Sunday morning attack, sources added.

Officials contacted by Goobjoog News in Lafoole declined to give details about the incident.

The militant group Al-Shabaab has in the past planted improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along Afgooye road mainly targeting Amisom and Somali Security Forces.

No group claimed responsibility today’s attack.
