Tension holds as clan clashes erupt in Sool region

Reports from Sanaag region indicate that there are tensions in the area between clans living in El-Afweyn district.

Abdirisak Mohamed, a resident of the district, told Goobjoog News that the violence in the district attacks was revenge for the killing of innocent residents.

“We fear the fighting could erupt at any time because the clan militias are reinforced heavy and the traditional elders have carried out no attempts to intervene,” said resident.

Tensions between the two clans have risen in recent days after killing several people for revenge.

On several occasions, El-afweyn has clashed with clan militias, and innocent civilians were killed there.
